Food: Delicious home cook meal.

Posted in Food by zanyasan on March 22, 2009

Last night, it was such an honor for a very good friend of mine decided to cook for a group of friends

It was really simple 2 courses meal with a real homemade dessert along with the selection with a bottle of sparkling white wine and a sparkling rose… it was a perfect match!
Course 1: Fresh mussels steamed with herbs and chillies. Taste so good I had to wipe the dish clean!
Course 2: A Moroccan red snapper stew. Rich blends of different kind of spices and perfectly cooked red snapper.
I found a recipe online to give you the idea of spices that go into it.
Both courses was served with bread and Jacob's Creek Chardonnay Pinot Noir Brut Cuvee.
Dessert: Strawberry and dark chocolate dip. Interestingly, the chef soaked the large strawberries with sparkling wine before flash grilled them. The warm strawberries leave amazing scents of sweetness in your mouth while the dark chocolate dip leaves a slight bitter taste. The dip was also a home made, she said the recipe is a secret ;)
A bottle of Sparkling Rose we picked up from Wine Loft (all 3 branches carry this). Recommend for those looking for a nice dessert sparkling rose.
Had chance to try Belvedere Vodka and absolutely love it. Next time I will leave a bottle in a freezer see how it compares with slightly thicker body of frozen Grey Goose.
After all, it was a wonderful night for all of us where great foods meet the right companies!
Lastly, I leave you all with a set of photos :)
